The ORI™ Story

Inspired by foldable bikes, boats, strollers and chairs, and for as long as I can remember I’ve been fixated with finding a small foldable drum kit — Eventually it dawned on me - I didn’t really need a tiny drum kit… I just needed a smarter way to organize and repurpose my own drums.I searched high and low for a portable drum rack that would fit my own drums - but no luck - I couldn't find anything ... so as necessity is the mother of all invention - I decided to build one.The main thing I was aiming for :FORM Small enough to take anywhere - And look like a a drum kit when its loaded up .FUNCTION Hold Drums, be strong, steady and sound great.Today - after lots of sketching, prototyping and head-scratching — I have built the holy grail of compact foldable drum racks - the OriRack™ - or The ORI™ for short.
Its very cool - its easy to setup & stash, easy to add drums and accessories, its strong and it preserves the look, feel, and playing experience of a traditional kit… except now it comes alive in minutes and uses only a fraction of space needed by a traditional kit.Oh yeah - its designed to reduce the floor space requirements - I built it to use a 14" tom or a 16" floor tom as a bass depending on needs...A) an Ultra-portable setup using a cheeky 14" (tom) for the bass - or
B) a bigger, fuller bass sound with a 16" floor tom for the bass.The Ori™ is perfect for
